Just imagine, that you are a creative director in the best-known advertising agency in your country. You are getting a very important commission: you have to create a photo ad to publicize your country. The whole project is about citylights, bilbords and magazines' one-page-ads. Therefore, you have just one photograph to take (you can use, of course, Photoshop to combine few pictures into one). What will appear on your 'The Best Ad' of your country? Your target group is: people in age of 21-29 years old.

I am from Hungary. If I had to promote my country I would like to show, how colourful it is. It would be a combination of 4 different pictures: a group of people dancing and having picknick in traditional clothes in summer; others walking in the beautiful autumn forest; others drinking mulled wine in front of the fire place; and in spring some people in the park: painting, making some music, children playing.

In Japan, the academic year begins in April (not in September differ from Europe) so in spring,it's peaceful and heartwarming to see the cheerful children who are 5 to 6 years old from kindergarten or day care centre entering the elementary schools.

The age of 1921-1929 years old might have grandchildren and doubtlessly want to see their smiles in such horrible situations suffering from the aftermaths of earthquake. Therefore I will use children's great smiles with beautifully blooming cherry blossoms in the advertisement of my country for not only Japanese but also everyone who worry us all over the world.

As Tavia already mentioned, the target group is quite old. so i would rather promote some calm stuff which you can do in austria. i think vali's idea of Schloss Schönbrunn is good because there's a park around which is perfect for old people to walk around. also the nature in western austria, in the alps, is really beautiful.

Since the target group is quite old I would promote Belgium to them in a way both our beautiful historical cities and food are shown. A combination which might be attracting to elderly people. The picture would include a retired couple drinking a fresh belgian beer/eating frensh fries or chocolate at the main square of Bruges/Ghent/Brussels or Antwerp.

One thing i really like about Finland is the constant change: from spring to summer to autumn to winter. It keeps you on your toes and makes us good in adapting.

Funny stuff, these days they say we have four and a half seasons here in Finland as we do have this weird cold, rainy, almost snowy season between the autumn and the "real" winter =)

So, my promotional picture of Finland would be a tree of some kind, maybe a fir tree, standing proudly in a beautiful scenery, all year long, through all the tough season changes. In the spring, the surrounding deciduous trees would begin to blossom and in the summer, the lake view behind would tell the story of the nightless night of midsummer. In the autumn, the surrounding trees would celebrate in so many beautiful colors finally dropping their leaves when the winter comes.

Hmm.. maybe this idea can be executed.. Now I only need a lake and a tree..

I would like to highlight the fact that in Finland we have four beautiful, very different seasons. I would also like to point out that we have both vivid cities and peaceful countryside. Therefore I would make a collage of 4 photograph: 1) from "the winter wonderland" Lapland, with a lot of snow and northern lights, 2) a spring time scene from a city, people sitting on a terrace of a cafe drinking their first beers and ciders in the sun, 3) summer picture from the country side with a lake, a rowing boat and a child fishing and 4) a picture of the forest in "ruska"-time, when the leaves turn all red and yellow.

I think I would take a picture of a couple ice-fishing on a lake in a beautiful landskape. It is a weird hobby, which has nature strongly attached.

I'm from The Netherlands and we are famous because of the tulips, windmills, cows, cheese and of course Amsterdam. It is not very original, because it is already done a lot, but I would make a combined picture of these characteristics .
To be more original, the picture could be of the typical Dutch canals with the Dutch old houses by day or night.

As I come from Vienna I would take a picture of the Schloss Schönbrunn and add a text that says for example: Enjoy Vienna!
The whole colour concept in black and white, this is retro but still very nice.
:)
